The most common method of consuming dried reishi mushrooms is to make a tea. The tea can be prepared by simmering the mushroom in water for about three hours. Reishi can also be added to soups, which should be simmered for two to three hours as well.
In prepared dishes they are most commonly used sparingly, as an accent, due to the strong, earthy flavour.
Store dried pieces in a cool, dry, dark place in an airtight container. After use store in refrigerator or in freezer.
